Letter from Robi                                                 Robi's Bio

Greetings!

I TRUST that 2011 has been a most productive year for you and your summer is going great.
I am excited about hosting my 9th Annual End of Summer Celebration, a fundraising benefit, to support The Black Aids Institute, a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization (www.blackaids.org).  I am amazed at how the Celebration has grown over the years. Not only is it an event where people travel across the country to attend - it is a PARTY WITH A PURPOSE.

The facts surrounding HIV/AIDS often described in the media are real and very serious!  AIDS has become the number one killer amongst African American women ages 18-34.  It is an epidemic that has ravished our community at large and is devastating families at a rapid pace.

Knowledge is power and a strong weapon to combating the spread of this disease. HIV testing and knowing your status is the main platform of the Black Aids Institute and I stand behind their efforts 150%.

WE ARE GREATER THAN AIDS! Throughout the years I have offered my guests a day full of entertainment, delicious food and great beverages.  It is a time enjoyed by all yet I realized the philanthropic efforts had gotten lost. I would find at the end of the festivities the amount of funds raised did not reflect the spirit of the event....

I believe that we can do better.  To restore the philanthropic aspect of the day I have slightly modified the structure for this year. I am asking that each guest make an advance donation of fifty dollars.  Your contribution will go to the Black Aids Institute and the  ongoing fight against this disease.  Together we really can make a difference.

A heartfelt thank you for your understanding and continued support!
I look forward to seeing you on September 3, 2011!
Blessings,
Robi Reed
